Not too long ago, Epic Games Creative Director Donald Mustard teased the possibility for a potential crossover between Fortnite and Marvel’s forthcoming motion picture Avengers: Endgame that could include the likes of Robert Downey Jr. While an Avengers crossover is still inconclusive at this point in time, it looks as if Epic could at the very least be bringing more items into Fortnite Battle Royale, with a new item called a Shadow Bomb and another object called a Zebulon Drone having been leaked.
This much has been revealed by way of a datamine of Fortnite‘s game files, with there being a string of data in the game files connected to challenges that hints at a “Shadow Bomb” needing to be used in different matches for the challenge’s completion. What’s more is that there’s even an audio file that leaked for the Shadow Bomb, and one can hear rather ominous undertones when it’s played. While unconfirmed, Shadow Bombs could be some sort of variant of Fortnite‘s Shadow Stones.
When it comes to the aforementioned Zebulon Drone, there is even less to go on, for it is only mentioned in Fortnite‘s game files in a short line of code. Unlike Shadow Bombs, no sound file has leaked for the Zebulon Drone, and there’s no telling whether or not it’s an item or a weapon. What’s more is that there’s even the possibility it may be incorporated in a later update in Fortnite‘s Save the World and not Battle Royale.
On top of the fact that it’s unclear what Shadow Bombs and Zebulon Drones are, there’s no way to know just yet if they will even be added into Epic Games’ online multiplayer shooter, as there have been plenty of items uncovered through datamines in the past that never made the cut. That said, though, there have also been loads of objects uncovered through datamines that did end up becoming official assets. For instance, Fortnite‘s Reboot Vans were unearthed via leaks ahead of their addition, so perhaps Shadow Bombs and Zebulon Drones will be added as well.

All things considered, we will simply have to sit tight for the official word from Epic Games as to whether or not Shadow Bombs and Zebulon Drones are planned for a future update in Fortnite. Between now and then, perhaps another datamine will drop to help determine exactly what these items are and when Epic could bring them into the game.
Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
